Your Response Options
- Keyholders Only: while this is a viable option for some customers, Pro1 does not recommend it, as we are unable to dispatch anyone for you. In other words, there would be no response to your emergency, as we cannot dispatch on your behalf. You must call for help yourself if you have an emergency. The response time for situations such as this may be as long as two or more hours. In situations like this, Pro1 can only notify you of a problem.
- Police response: in most situations, this is the preferred option of many of
our clients and the estimated response time, which varies by location, may be from 30 seconds to
30 minutes or more. Be aware though that many locations now have false alarm bylaws and fees to
cover the cost of responding to such an alarm. We discuss that with you when you call Pro1 to
find out your options.
Our annual registration fee, if you pay in advance, is $35.00 for each location, provided it is paid within ten days. Your first two false dispatches are FREE. If there are more than two false dispatches, each one is billed at $125.00. - RCMP or other police force response: most of our rural customers use this option. Right now, there is no fine for a false intrusion alarm, but there may be a fine for a false fire alarm. The costs of dispatching fire personnel to a false alarm are passed to the customer and all alarm companies bill out false fire alarms in the same way.
- Commissionaires: if you have a fair number of false alarms, this may be the
option for you. If there is an actual premises breach, the Commissionaires call the police. Be
aware that the response time would vary, as the police would not be going to an alarm system
call out.
Our annual registration fee is $25.00 for each location, with a one-time expense of $35.00 for renting a lockbox. Each dispatch call out is $20.00 and the response time, depending on the location and other factors, may range from 30 seconds to 30 minutes or more. - Guard Response: for those that may have a fair number of false alarms or prefer
a more personalized approach to alarm responses. If there is an actual premises breach,
the Guard calls the police while maintaining observation at the premise until the police arrive.
Our annual registration fee is $50.00 for each location. Each dispatch call out is $60.00 and the response time, depending on the location and other factors, may range from 30 seconds to 30 minutes or more.
